아이폰 해커이자 PS3 탈옥 전문가인 지오핫(Geohot)이 그의 홈페이지인 지오핫닷컴(geohot.com)을 통해서 PS3 3.55 펌웨어를 탈옥하는 동영상을 공개했습니다.
 
아래 동영상을 보면 지오핫이 만든 커펌을 이용하여 플스3 3.55 버전에서 간단한 홈브류를 구동하는 모습을 볼 수 있습니다.

이미 홈페이지를 통해서 소니 측에 더 이상 차세대 게임기를 해킹 당하기 싫다면 나에게 연락하라는 메세지를 남긴 만큼 이번 기회에 제대로 한몫 챙길 모양입니다. 
만약 소니가 뒷돈을 챙겨주지 않는다면 조만간 PS3 3.55 커펌을 공개할지도....

그리고 또 한명의 해커인 카카로토(KaKaRoTo)가 PS3 3.55 버전을 3.41 로 다운그레이드 하는데 성공했다고 합니다. 
이미 PS3의 팩토리/서비스 모드를 진입할 수 있는 3.55용 lv2diag.self 파일(Lv2diag_355.zip)까지 돌아다니고 있으니 관심있는 분들은 URL 링크에서 다운로드를 받아서 PS3 다운그레이드를 시도해 보세요.

Earlier today, Mathieulh tweeted about the release, of an app he coded, which decrypts/extracts PSN PKG files. The app, PSP PS3 PKG Decrypter Extractor v.1.0.0.0, allows you to drag and drop any Sony PKG (excluding updater ones) and it will conveniently spit out the decrypted/extracted contents.  KaKaRoTo Downgrades v3.55 PS3 Console to v3.41

KaKaRoTo, most recently famous for his custom firmware PUP, has just tweeted some very exciting news. Finally , PS3 users everywhere will be able to downgrade their 3.55 consoles. KaKaRoTo, with the help of fellow dev, Xtse, has stated that he successfully downgraded his 3.55 console to 3.41. However, due to the possible risk of bricking your console, he is not quite ready to reveal the method. We assume that once he has perfected his method, a public release will be made for all. Stay tuned, for more info, as it becomes available to us.

SERVICE MODE DOWNGRADING - 3.55 Lv2diag.self Working !! 
 UPDATE : lv2diag.self confirmed working on 3.55 Download - Lv2diag_355.zip This was basically done by philhug . He told me how to do this , and how to get lv2diag.self working. People can test firmware if they wish to see if any work. You need to be in service mode to use it. If you try a firmware and it doesnt install and your ps3 doesnt start up, just use the official 3.55 firmware and repeat the procedure to recover. I am not responsible for any bricks, if it happens. A modified firmware will prob have to be created for it to fully work and downgrade

GeoHot "Jailbreaks" 3.55 Firmware - Runs Homebrew
 
The news continues to flow in today, this time around coming from GeoHot. He updated his site today with a very innocent looking line, "I made a video". However, what that video contains will change the face of PS3 forever. In what could be a glorious day in the PS3 scene, geohot, famous for leaking the metldr keys, has finally able to Jailbreak the 3.55 firmware that will comes in PUP which means a total CFW! 
But wait, George Hotz has stated that there will be no “peek & poke” in his PUP which would then enabled mass piracy of PS3 games in the scene. With this particular news, i am not sure if i would be happy or not..Anyhow, he will release a video later on for this, so let’s wait for the CFW excitement and listen to the Great Geohot
