"벌써 뚫렸군요...."

오늘 새벽 XBOX360용 복사 이미지(ISO) 게임이 XBOX360 게임기, 그리고 윈도우XP에서도 작동되는 것이 확인 되었습니다.

마이크로소프트사는 최근 홍보용으로 제작한 Kiosk 데모 디스크에 프로텍터를 거는 것을 잊어버렸고, 해커들은 이 취약점를 이용하여 데모디스크에 게임 파일들을 덮어 씌워서 XBOX360용 DVD5 셀프부팅 이미지를 만들었으며, 테스트 결과 XBOX360에서 게임이 실행되는 것을 확인하였습니다.  

XBOX360을 가지고 있는 분들은 지금 이 ISO파일을 다운로드 받아서 테스트해 보십시오.

셀프부팅 방식이라서 개조는 할 필요가 없습니다.

Update: There is now confirmation that the burned disc image works great on NTSC/USA X-Box 360 consoles despite it being a PAL Image, and also it's browseable in WinXP too!

Micro$oft left us with this blanket statement:

X-Box 360 retail kiosks have started arriving at retailers. Due to the nature of the distribution process, not all kiosks are hitting simultaneously, but are continuing to pop up in retailers across the country in the coming weeks. The kiosks are designed for a retail environment and feature game samples, game trailers and product information. Team PI leaves you with this Pillow statement:

It seems Micro$oft was in such a hurry to get this stuff out that they forgot to set the media protection on this disc. This leaves hackers with the posibility to hack around with this disc that load from a normal DVDR5 backup! - Team PI also notes that the all datafiles on this disc isn't signed in any way, and will allow for extensive modification for producing exploits to further our efford to hack this box!

Playable (hackable) games on this disc: Call of Duty 2, Hexic, Kameo, King Kong. Also includes lots of game and accessory demos in video format. Nothing ripped, just foreign videos were downsampled to fit onto a normal DVDR5! YES you can run this! Burn the iso, put it into your X-Box and be very amazed... Next, think of the posibilities of hacking this little demo disc that we might start running code on the retail X-Box 360's!
